notice how the economy is doing better now also! Or is that because it happens usually during mid-term. HMMmmmm.. oh, and since when did security breaches become a political issue of one party? It should be the concern of all parties and everyone who wishes to live in a democratic country.
In da butt.

Oh, c'mon, Dan. The only 2 midterm elections in memory that looked this bad were 1994 (Contract with America) and 1974 (Watergate/nam). Given that the Democrats don't have a cunning strategist like Gingrich (or, indeed, a strategy), this puts W's presidency on par with Nixon's in its death throes. Hardly business as usual.
Whoa there. 1994 was a 54-seat House swing and an 8-seat Senate swing. This is not that.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
Looks like Allen lost by 2,265 votes out of 2,284,023 cast. 2,265 votes could determine control of the Senate!

It almost certainly won't be 6. Probably 5. Plus several Governorships...

But no, this is certainly not a normal midterm... Just look at the macro numbers. The only things that keep their losses as low as they are the absurd districts we have, and that not that many Republican Senate seats are up this cycle.

By the way, comparing with 1994 is sort of hard given that the Democrats were defending 22 seats, whereas tonight the Republicans were only defending 15
