Blow me. Allow me to rephrase: there is no race to speak of. The Dem incumbent is under zero threat.

Ah-hah, I finally figured out who Delauro's opponents are (near-zero news coverage on it, due to Lieberman v. Lamont and other much closer, nastier races):

            Joseph Vollano (R)
            Daniel A. Sumrall (G)

Daniel, my boy, you get a vote. Rosa will win easily anyway.

The 3rd district (mine) is boring this time 'round, so much so I forgot there was even a contested seat. My bad on that. Have your yuks, Ozzy & Ninot, fair enough.

The 2nd, 4th and 5th districts are hot & heavy, and have eaten up all the coverage not devoted to Lieberman/Lamont.

If Steele is elected and the Dems lose the Senate by 1 seat, I blame you.

I voted straight ticked Dem (and Libertarian where there was no Dem candidate, and didn't vote where there was only a Republican). In 2002, I didn't vote for a single Dem (all Green or Libertarian).

That's if Steele wins by 1 vote. If Steele wins in a landslide, it won't be Ozzy's fault.

So, apparently you think Steele is one of the good guys, or represents the lesser of two evils. Why?

Unfortunately I didn't do the long, hard canddiate research I usually do, so this wasn't the most educated vote I've cast, but I still think Steele was a bit better.

He seems to be in favor of typical Republican issues like lower taxes and smaller government, which is always good in my book (assuming they don't start writing blank checks once in office like the current Congress/Senate).

Steele seems to be fairly honest and straightforward (for a politician) and ran a cleaner, more positive campaign.

Being a black republican in a democratic state would give him instant celebrity status and national recognition, whereas Cardin seems to be the type to just fade into the background and not make waves.

Steele apparently opposes abortion & the death penalty, so we're in line on that.

On the other hand, Steele supports the war, which I most definitely do not. However I'm worried that simply cutting and running without trying to clean up the mess we made would simply make things worse (of course that assumes we aren't making it worse just by remaining there).

And I typically lean against incumbants. So while this is an open seat, its been held by Dems for a long time now, nice to change things up.

It's a shame that Sarbannes (of Sarbannes-Oxley fame) is leaving the Senate. Really smart guy, but not much of a showman. Hopefully Cardin's the same way...
