The dem one I read would call you and ask who you were voting for in a certain race. If you answered the Demo candidate, it would thank you for your support. If you said the repub candiate it would launch into a string of questions like

Having not lived in New Jersey, I cannot comment on how bad Democratic corruption can be, but going on Chicago, which oddly prides itself on its history of corruption, I can say that the Dems have got nothing on the GOP controlled South. The level of corruption here is so bad even they are ashamed of it, claiming simply, thank god for New Jersey, so we aren't the worst.

Historically, I'm sure K-Street isn't the worst we've ever seen, but it's certainly the worst since WWII. Also, the level of pork spending by GOP candidates exploded since 1994.

To claim that the Dems are just as bad as the GOP is to live in serious denial. You think you know what corruption is. My landlord brought my alderman to my apartment in Chicago. My friend was attacked by thugs working for Daley II. My family owed its prosperity to Daley I simply because my grandfather attended the same downtown church as Daley. I am fully aware of how bad Chicago is and was. They're amateurs compared to the South.

Even if both parties are "equaly bad" the only logical move is to vote against the party in power to throw it out. If you do this consistently then it will eventualy get beat into their heads that Failure = loss of power and their would be an insentive to NOT fail. On the other hand if keep a party in power because you think the oposition will be worse then your setting a much lower bar "Apearing to be worse then the party not in power = loss of power" so thats what they try to do just make the other party apear worse. One should always vote on satisfaction with the current party irespective of what the other party says or dose. The american electorates move away from this logic is one of the key reasons why things are so ****ed up.

Republicans are always forced to fall back to "both parties are equally bad" to try to mitigate their wrongdoings. That should tell you something.

How does it tell us that? There are good people in the Republican party and bad people in the Republican party. Same goes for the Democrats. I don't see any evidence that the average Republican is the equivalent of the worst Democrat...

Both sides resort to that argument. It only seems like a Republican tactic because the Republicans are criticized more and therefore have to use the argument more often.
