Is this going to be a major scandal in Germany? Could it jeopardize the recent trend of sending troops abroad?

I don't know that we should classify this as "bad things happen in war." When I think bad things happening in war, I think of napalm falling on villagers, gang rape, child soldiers and young men dying of shock in a godforsaken wilderness after stumbling into an ambush.

Whereas a guy posing with his meat hanging out while holding a human skull sounds like someone's student thesis for a degree in modern art or something.

Then you get a Madrassa filmmaker's student thesis of slaughtering an infidel by sawing their head off slowly with a dull, rusted, saw.

Ask Daniel Pearl or Nick Berg.

But no, I know, those poor devout Muslims are just misunderstood...

of course rubbing your dick on a skull is worse than flying planes through buildings and generally speaking slaughtering infidels, so this is pretty much all about our "civilization" if we don´t even have the good sense of defending our culture against a raging horde of people living in the Middle Ages
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Yes. Very strong reactions so far - I think in part also because there's the fear that radical islamists could still use the thing to try something (after all it took long before the cartoon stupidity got momentum - the cartoons were published in Denmark months before).

I don't think so. On the same day the photos came out the Bundestag confirmed a new national security policy with the army labeled clearly as "intervention force".

                          Yep. As BeBro said.
But they plan to do more education on the troops going abroad, i.e. before their departure they get a couple more lessons in the classroom where they´re taught what´s O.K. and which things should better not be done in the culture of the country where their mission will take place.

According to the news this morning, they found it lying in a gravel pit. At the time they were there, there were also several Afghanis in the pit looking for similar "treasures".

This is part of a pattern.

The more westerners make a fuss about their own so-called-atrocities against Islam (when invariably they aren't), and demand special sensitivity-training for troops, the more it encourages the Islamists to kick and scream.
