actually they will probably get better. Favre is done fore. He has a couple good performances here and there, but his consistancy is shot.

When a QB, like Brees, who is almost single-handedly responsible for his team's loss due to turnovers, is listed among the top quarterbacks due to his total passing yards, I begin to wonder about reporters who reports such nonsense and fans who cite such miserable performances as "great."

Week after week, it's very common for over half of the top 5 or 6 QBs in yardage to be losers. It's usually because they're forced to try and rally from behind. Defenses are teeing off up front and playing 6 DBs, forcing rushed throws into coverage.

I didn't see the Brees game this week, but my take is that -- in general -- high yardage games are more an indication of team failure (usually weak defense and/or early turnovers) than bad quarterbacking.

91 yards total. Though that may be as mentioned, they are trying to come from behind. But I still feel teams abandon the running game way to early. They shouldn't be doing so before the 4th quarter.

Some of the Ints by Brees were horrible though. He was picked off in the end zone on a pass where you wonder why he'd be throwing it in the middle of Bengals players. Another Int went for a TD in the 4th Q.

The running game wasn't horrible. They only rushed 23 times (91 yards), however.

If Brees doesn't throw the pick in the endzone (and think a FG there) and doesn't throw the pick that was returned 52 yards for a TD, the game is much closer (24-19). Still doesn't get them a win probably, but you never know what happens in the end.

Former Eagles DB Andre Waters, 44, commits suicide

TAMPA, Fla. -- Andre Waters, a defensive back who spent most of his 12 seasons in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Monday. He was 44.

Andre Waters played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1984-1993.

His body was found at about 1:30 a.m. at his Tampa home, the medical examiner's office said. He had shot himself in the head. Toxicology reports were ordered and results will be available in four to six weeks, the office said.

Waters' body was found by his girlfriend, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. The woman's name was not available, and the sheriff's office had no further details, Carter added.
