Maybe Iraq was never meant to be. The Sunnis of the Baghdad area have been dominating the Shia majority for nearly 400 years. They were brought into the area by the Ottomans ( or locals were converted under pressure from the Ottomans ) so maybe even though there is a chance that the Shia may adopt a government we won't like they should be allowed to free themselves from the Sunnis. Avoiding slaughter in the border zones will be difficult. There probably will be a slaughter.
