Yah, well, not to be TOO parochial about it, but Im still not comfortable with the cartoon Webb used against his primary opponent, nor with some of the generals backing him who feature prominently in his campaign lit. To be less parochial, his only substantive position on economic issues seems to be protectionist.
I may simply not vote for Senate this year.

Everyone's in favor of cutting spending, until their favorate programs are on the chopping block. This reminds me of the famous scene with Michale Moore going down to Newt Gnigrich's district's county fair, getting up on a stage and railing against government spending. The whole crowd is going wild and screaming, "YEAH!" Then he starts listing all the government pork that they should cut in their district, and the crowd goes silent.

There's no such thing. If it's 50-50, the GOP retains the Senate, with the President of the Senate (Cheney) being the deciding vote.
