Meh, don't you worry, Lieberman is gonna win. I tried to fire him, but he's difficult to remove. Like a tumor in a tricky spot.

I may simply not vote for Senate this year.
My Dad worked for the CNO when Webb was SecNav, he says he was the most arrogrant, useless SOB imaginable and would ***** and moan when he wouldn't get his way. Incidently, if you go down the "Hall 'O Navy Secs" in the Pentagon, Webb's Portrait is twice the size of all the others and he had his "I-love-me" wall painted into it.

Everyone's in favor of cutting spending, until their favorate programs are on the chopping block. This reminds me of the famous scene with Michale Moore going down to Newt Gnigrich's district's county fair, getting up on a stage and railing against government spending. The whole crowd is going wild and screaming, "YEAH!" Then he starts listing all the government pork that they should cut in their district, and the crowd goes silent.

The latest poll numbers are showing the Senate split 49-49 with 2 seats as toss ups. We could see a slipt Senate with no majority.

Which party would control the U.S. Senate if the election were held today? The numbers below show the leaders based on averages of the most recent poll ...

There's no such thing. If it's 50-50, the GOP retains the Senate, with the President of the Senate (Cheney) being the deciding vote.

Anyway, there's lots of politics still to go. 3 weeks is a long time for a political campaign.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

What if it were 49-49-2, though?

That depends on whether Lieberman upholds his promise to vote for Reid.

Actually, they can’t even gay bash right now since the Republican leadership helped to cover up a pedophile who was molesting children on the floors of the Congress. All they have is pork but they are excellent at spending the public money on useless projects in order to buy votes. The bastards are so corrupt they can’t be trusted with a public bathroom much less the public’s money.

Remember this is Poly, not DU. You sound like the most virulent Clinton hater a decade ago. There's plenty to hate the Repugs for without reaching so much. The Foley thing is bad on a small scale (ie his district if he hadn't resigned), but hardly rises to a national issue even if there was a significant coverup by the leadership. As bad as the pork is, it's a drop in the bucket compared to the war which itself is a drop in the bucket compared to Medicare bill. Both received significant Democrat support. Meanwhile one of the few good things Bush attempted, Soc. Sec. reform was demagogued right into the gutter, with few on either side of the aisle having the guts to take a risk and actually do something useful for their country. Fvck them all, every soldier who served in Iraq has already risked far more than these fvcks ever will. You'll be disappointed if the Dems take over I assure you, and constantly enraged if the Reps hold power.

Sums it up well. I have a feeling if the Dems take power, Oerdin will be mad that they 'caved' on a certain issue or something.
