Not a chance. They will probably hold on to the Senate, but they're probably going to lose surprisingly big in the House. Ten more seats just went from safe GOP to safe Dems.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is some serious investigations. I'd like to see the men at the top removed, but I doubt it's gonna happen unless the moderates finally accept the criminality of the current administration. Given their willingness to tear out their own eyes in order to appear "reasonable" I hold out no hope.

On the flip side, if the GOP holds on to the House, I think a lot of people will be convinced the election was stolen, and aren't going to accept it.

I still don't want someone who was impeached and removed from the federal bench to be serving as the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. It's a shame the Senate didn't forbid him from running for federal office when they had the chance...

It's not certain that he'll get the job. The Intel Cmte isn't based on seniority, so the chair is basically chosen at Pelosi's discretion. Indeed, the ranking member is not Hastings, but Harman and she's not going to get the job. Hopefully, it'll be Reyes (3rd in line).

I've always liked Rangel -- he's an old-school, loud-mouthed party hack with decent liberal credentials. But even I can't quite believe that he's poised to chair Ways and Means. That should actually be way scarier, for the GOP, than having Pelosi as speaker -- Rangel'a a far more effective politician and way more adept at power politics. It's like the second coming of Rostenkowski.
