Whoa, Eli, are you old enough to remember the end of WW II?

            So it goes.

Most of me is happy it didnt happen, of course. Germany did a lot of good since the war and continues to do so and usually I find it hard to blame the regular people for anything anyway. We are too easily manipulated. Nevertheless, it doesnt look as if justice was served.

The East German anthem is an expression of the ultimate hope of the German people to be united in a fatherland dedicated to the advancement of the state of the people.

I think reunited Germany needs lebensraum, needs some colonies it - practically - never had (Cameroon, Namibia and Tanzania and part of Papua are NOT a colonial empire). I think they should get India

I haven't been to Germany since November 1986. How have things changed?

I regret that they didn't choose the DDR's anthem.

Because they started very late, as Bismarck didn't believe in colonialism. Colonizing was Wilhelm 2's idea, and there weren't that many empty spots by then.

So the millions of Germans who were displaced after the war and driven out of the east, the thousands upon thousands (millions by some estimates) who were killed as a result of the expulsion, and the loss of over a quarter of their territory doesn't count as justice? Not even a little bit?
