Ok. Depending on where you live, most likely, daylight last longer than darkness. But where it's dark 6 months a year, no trees live there.

        Better?

        • Iron is the answer

Large portions of the ocean have low algae/plankton populations because there is not enough iron to sustain them. If we sent a container ship with iron fertilizer and started spreading it on the surface of the ocean where it is deficient, we might be able to sequested enough extra carbon to counter our current CO2 emission rates.

            Better. But not really

At any instant in time, it's daytime for half the world, and night for the other half.

Any place on earth has exactly as many daylight hours as nighttime hours.

            • No wonder

English speakers in Quebec don't like having their children forced into French schools...

              • sure, but what's the amount of daytime and night time where we have the most concentration of trees?

Like the amazon forest. Sun rises at 6 and sets at 9. 15 hours of daylight compared to 9 hours of darkness.

Sure if you calculate the north and south pole it's equal but who cares for the sake of this discussion, no trees live there.

That's besides the point but they are not. If one of the parents is english, they can attended english school. If both are french, they cant...

Only in the summer. If those hours are true, then in the winter, the sun rises at 9 and sets at 6.

                    • Umm

The equator goes through the Amazon forest. Very little variation from 12 hours daylight/12 hours night.
