He has a mouse under his eye. WOW! Harsh.

If old Chester the Molestor approached any child, and I saw it, I'd take my chances later with a jury trial of my peers.

Hell, he doesn't look beat on to me - I could do that much damage myself, (more, actually) in about 15 seconds - this was supposedly the result of him being detained by 15 men for several minutes? Looks like reasonable force to me.

hey, you - Tex! Is THAT what you call a ten pound can of whoopass? Must be made in Texas - all fizz and no product. Maybe all the hot air leaked out of the can. Looks like one of those little perfume sample bottles' worth to me. Eau de wimpette or somethin'

but his face looks like he was beaten more than once.
Not much more, and not severely - I've seen a lot more serious scrapes, cuts and bruises at a boxing gym (where the fighters are obviously wearing gloves) - I've also seen some serious beat downs, and this guy doesn't look bad - he's got all his teeth, he can still eat solid foods, he can breathe through his nose (he even still has one), his eyes are open, he still has eyebrows and cheeks - this guy was not seriously beaten.

Them Texas boys apparently couldn't read the instructions on how to properly use it.

This is an awful idea, Sloww. Not only is it "guilty until proven innocent," but it goes a step further: Guilty until we bother to prove it. If we allow such a princible to be legal, what's to stop it from being applied to other areas of law enforcement? Quite the slippery slope they got going there. Perhaps a better, more princibled way to combat kiddie porn to increase funding for enforcement so they can increase the number of agents on the case.

It's not "guilty until proven innocent" - it's taking the **** off the market. There's no criminal prosecution involved. Hmmmm, website has picture of adult diddling kid, we'll block it.

The downfalls will be technical - easy enough to get around any hosting restrictions by going (at least nominally) somewhere that doesn't enforce any restrictions, but still has decent bandwidth. Pervs will still be able to view it, but not through their unfettered choice of ISPs.

I'd still rather see more enforcement, back to the source - I'm not nearly as interested in the stuff being distributed (it's just data at that point), but back to the source where the kids are being harmed, and the pervs need to get closer to nature.

Then increase the enforcement force so that when stuff is found, the agents can move on it immediately. You don't see a problem of someone leveling an accustation against a site, the hosting service dropping said site, and only later the law enforcement agents finding the accusation to be false?

Considering that I have several business sites, all hosted by third parties, no. All those hosts have acceptable use policies (AUPs). Even adult webhosting providers in this country have AUPs. I pay for webhosting, and I have a contractual relationship with the hosting provider. They drop me based on some unsubstantiated allegation, I move to another host and am back up within 24 to 36 hours - it only takes that long because global DNS update takes a while to propagate. After that, I deal with my former hosting provider, who has a little breach of contract problem, and is liable for damages caused by said breach.

Most hosting providers operate on thin enough margins in a highly competetive environment. They don't want to lose customers and risk liability by spuriously kicking customer websites. Someone reports that I have a streaming video of someone diddling an 8 year old on my site, they can check the URL and their server logs and backups to verify or refute the claim, and act accordingly. If they find a video of a kid being diddled, they kick the site and kick me as a customer. If they find no content, or a picture of a bunny rabbit in a field of daisies, and verify through the server logs that that wasn't a link to a kid-diddling vid, then they roundfile the complaint and we all go about our merry way. I don't see the slightest problem with it.
