That tank is atleast 40 years old. I was in Thailand in 1997 for a joint military training event with the Thai Army. It seemed most of their stuff was old American gear which the US didn't want and just gave to them for free. I'll never forget how they loaded 16 people into a tiny WW2 era jeep and drove to our bizwac site out in the jungle near the Burmese border. It seems like it's a real coup.
However, in a broadcast on all Thai television channels the leadership of the armed forces said it had taken control of Bangkok, suspended the constitution and parliament, declared nationwide martial law and ordered all troops to return to their bases.With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Nothing will change. Governments in Thailand come and go regularly but nothing ever changes.

As far as I understand, Thaksin has been on an extended trip outside Thailand. He had decided to come back earlier than planned a day or two before the coup was carried out.
Hopefully the King and the generals will hold the elections in October as planned and recognize the new government. They've thrown the entire constitution out (which kind of follows from overthrowing the de jure PM by force), though, so you never know.Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test.
