That's a lot of money for such a weak system. This will become more of an issue as HDTVs continue to become more popular very quickly...

Probably... but Nintendo doesn't want to lose money on the console. MS will probably come down to $300 on the X360 probably by the time the Wii arrives.

I hope there will be a bundle pack with a game included, maybe Twilight Princess or Red Steel, because I hate spending money for a console and not having a game come with it. I'm also waiting for info on how access to classic games will work.

Needs to be $100 bucks cheaper.
It's still the cheapest thing on the market even at this price though. Still I do agree with your sentiment.

The base Xbox 360 already is $299.
Considering the Xbox 360 is, quite literally, a bit over 10 times the power of the Wii, a $50 price gap makes me giggle.

While it's not exact, a good rule of thumb for estimation is to divide by 100 when dealing with Yen: So, NES games will be around $5, SNES around $8, N64 around $10.
Edit: I see someone beat me to the punch. By 30 minutes.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
