I'm confused why so many people can look forward to the Wii games.

The 1st-party Nintendo games for the Gamecube sucked ass. Super Mario Sunshine really sucked, no matter how many deluded Nintendo fans say it doesn't.

This is a company that thought "Wii" was a really good name -- and you guys trust them to be so in touch so as to develop a game that is fun?

Nintendo of today is nothing like the Nintendo of the late 80s and 1990s.

Sunshine was Mario 64 with updated graphics. It therefore cannot possibly suck.

Me too. I don't understand how a grownup can enjoy these games.

They charge 250€ for a CONTROLLER (going to break itself the first time you drop it) you can use to play Mario games
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Mario 64 had charm and innovation. Mario Sunshine lacked charm, had oodles of cornyness (and not in the fun way), relied on a lame gadget, and generally felt half-assed. Plus it only had a single real locale...

Of the announced 1st party Wii games I'm looking forward to these:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - the two N64 zelda games were fantastic and this one looks to follow in those footsteps

Metroid Prime 3 - The new control scheme looks good and the first two games were excellent Metroid games

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - for obvious reasons

WarioWare: Smooth Moves - Mostly because my coworkers are all getting Wiis and this looks like it's going to be a great party game. The GCN Warioware was incredibly fun with a large group.

Yeah, I can see no reason what so ever for people to look foward to Wii games.

I don't know why people look forward to xbox360 and ps3 games that involve virutally no innovation beyond better graphics. Been there, done that. I want a different gaming experience, and I think Wii will provide that.

Me neither. Of those you listed, Super Smash Brothers is the only game likely to be passably entertaining -- but even then, only as a party game.

The Metroid Prime games were hugely overrated. The only reason they're so well-received is they're shining gems of excellence compared to 99% of the crap on the Gamecube.

I'm all for innovation, but gimmicks ain't innovation. The Wiimote is such a gimmick.

Innovation can be unlocked by more powerful hardware that allows more to be done in the game. There are games we can do now that can't be done on the NES or a C64.

Just like there will be games that can be done on the Xbox 360 or PS3 that can't be done on the Wii.

All Wii games, however, can be done on the 360 and PS3. Even the Wiimote games can easily be countered by a similar gyroscopic/motion-sensitive controller that can be connected via the USB ports or controller ports on both consoles.

The Wii is more limited by design, which stiffles innovation.

You want simplistic, easy to design games? That's what Xbox Live Arcade is for. Any kid in his basement can make games for the Xbox 360, and that's going to provide more innovation than a motion-sensitive controller that appears to be frustrating to use.
