those #s aint bad (70s good anyway), people with good #s can have spikes in their readings for a variety of reasons. I was ~135-90 before my veggie diet and walking golf courses. I've dropped 25 lbs and my bp is 115-70. I'm sure I can get it up to 135 with just a little activity/stress...

but I cant hit the damn golf ball as far, I've lost 10-15 yds off my drives

That seems somewhat excessive. Try eating some beans.
      yup

just tested myself, 105-60 on both arms

but it jumps to 125-80 after some activity

It's interesting that this got brought up again.

I had a physical earlier this year. The first thorough one in many years, if not ever. I am at the age where they wanted to have a lot of tests. One of them was some sort of electrical measurement of the heart. The lab tech who hooked me up and took the readings said she was impressed. Something about 'firefighter strong.' I think she said ~45 beats per minute.

                Good.

Except I smoke about a pack a day (for the last 30 years, down from a peak of two packs a day) and drink far more beer and more regularly than any doctor would like.

                Hmmm.

Is it possible to have an abnormal heart that shows up with lower than normal heart rate?

Another positive was that the doctor told me blood pressure was normal. I've been told mine was high every time it was measured since I was about 18. To get that I largely eliminated salt.

It's more likely that your Canadian doctor was using outdated and ****ty equipment.

It is possible you have some form of heart block giving you a bradycardia, since it certainly doesn't sound like you'd be the typical 45-BPM-because-I'm-an-Adonis type.

Don't listen to him, he's a a baby doctor. EKG's are done lying down, which generally lowers the heart rate. I often have the nurses in my clinic getting bug-eyed about how low someone's heart rate is, so I tell them to take the patient's pulse when he gets back in his room, where he'll be sitting and his heart rate will rise back to above 60 bpm.

every time they take my bp I gotta sit, but thats with the arm band - I did notice my bp was lower when I was lying down though. I'd expect that since the heart aint fighting gravity as much. and apparently its possible - and indicative of a possible blockage - to have different #s for each arm. Is that true, Doc?

Maybe see a doctor for a "physical" consultation instead of an online consultation courtesy of the Apolyton Medical Board?

the heart is closer to your left arm, normal to have slightly different readings
I'm no doc, just a nurse
