Apparently, it's these topics that can lead me to tears, really.

I confess I found his comments about Jews and the Holocaust incredibly offensive, much more so than I ever have his inane remarks about the United Kingdom, Brits, Australia or big gay homos. I have no problem giving as good as I get with his observations on those topics.

He just seemed unable to get any sense of proportion into his comments, and went so far beyond the boundaries of humour or taste and decorum to warrant some kind of ban.

I've been banned for the occasional remark about Fez/Pedro Poopy Pants and posting a Courbet painting- the latter I did find particularly hard to fathom (apparently 'family' sites can't accommodate world famous 19th Century art...) but there seemed to be no attempt at being amusing or witty or informative in his tirades, just a desire to insult the memory of the dead and their descendants and the remaining survivors of the Holocaust.

When I read his little rants, it was the first time I'd ever read anything on Poly that produced such an immediate visceral response, that it actually made me want to hurt somebody- he was right up there with the torturers of animals in my book .

Oh, of course they were terribly offensive, and he was an ******* for saying them, but the point is, (a)there is no point of letting any of that sort of thing get to you, and (b)what else is new?

In the long run I suppose it doesn't really get to me- it wasn't as bad as the Irving-Holocaust denial stuff.

Still expressing a modicum of anger was good for me.

As long as you now realize that Jews are stupid, Paiktis's job was done.

Saying a) doesn't mean that you ignore it, quite contrary - if you let them say it, then you can fight it and they can't fall back on the typical reasoning that their opinions are suppresed etc.

                      b) will be true until the day when the Telepathic matrix is finished.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

                        This guy remembers Joe.

Joe was the real version of Thorn's play Nazi.

Just the usual ignorant wind-up stuff you'd expect from someone with limited knowledge of all those subjects, and who is still in extreme denial about the utter insignificance of Greece in the post Diadachoi period.

There is a modicum of amusement to be derived from watching someone expose their stupidity for all and sundry to relish, but eventually it ends up being rather like inadvertently glimpsing an educationally subnormal child masturbating in public.
