Texas embarrasses me with the non-conference games they scheduled.
Yeah ... this is why it's frustrating to be a Big Ten fan, particularly Michigan. We always were blamed for a "weak schedule" because of Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, etc. (at different times), while our nonconference schedule always had Notre Dame on it, and honestly anyone else willing to come to the midwest, which sadly generally wasn't much, with the 'good teams' being in the south or southwest ... We still played a Big Ten with some strong, gutty teams that have a tendency to find a way to win, even if they're not as talented, and don't back off of playing strong teams like ND when given the option, while teams like Texas play horrid nonconference teams that allow them to pad their stats and 'look impressive' while beating a Big Twelve that had a few 'better' teams than the Big Ten, mostly because the bottom of the league was so awful that there were always a few teams that could go undefeated against the rest of the league except for the 'top team' du jour ...

Big East (3): West Virginia, Louisville, Rutgers
Big Ten (2): Ohio State, Michigan
Pac Ten (2): USC, Oregon
ACC (1): Wake Forest
Big Twelve (1): Missouri
WAC (1): Boise State
I wouldn't vote for Texas in Top 10, just because of things like that.

My updated rankings. No changes in the top ten. (Southern Cal is lucky that West Virginia was off this week, otherwise I would probably have bumped the Mountaineers up assuming a win.) TCU's loss probably means that there will be no minor-conference BCS teams this year, barring an undefeated run through the WAC by Boise State and a lot of losses by teams ahead of them.
1. Ohio State
2. Auburn
3. Michigan
4. Southern Cal
5. West Virginia
6. Florida
7. Louisville
8. Notre Dame
9. Texas
10. Louisiana State
11. Georgia
12. Oregon
13. Tennessee (+2)
14. Clemson **
15. Georgia Tech **
16. California **

I think Florida is better than some of your guys think... of course that depends on the LSU game, but Leak/Tebow tandem is really doing well.

To me, there's something fundamentally wrong with putting a team in the top 10 that has played the 118th toughest schedule so far.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. That's what's got me down on the Longhorns. If you're the best, beat the best. Take on competition.

Just about everyone plays patsies early. I mean look at LSU, they have the 100th SOS according to your favorite guy, Sagarin. Georgia is 112th. Not much different than WVU's 118.

They may do it, but we shouldn't give them credit for it. By the way, that's why I didn't put LSU and Georgia in the mix. My conscience is clear.

 IMO, it is hard to not put LSU in the mix when they played Auburn so tough.

Looking at things this week, I think I got last week's rankings pretty much right. I probably should have included Oregon and dropped Iowa a spot or two.
