not to step on anyones religon, but makes me wonder about gods & kids with a major illness

a co-worker just found out her daughter (13) has advanced MS

why would this happen if there is a supreme being?

My good thoughts are being sent your way

It's just faith, as silly as that may seem, in believing there is a Plan. A reason.
She faces this struggle and wins, many things in the future will seem less bad. That's a for instance.

I have asked that same question my self!!!, With the kids that have cancer and were just babies. They are so fun when they feel good and hurt so much when they dont. I dont understand how a god could allow this to happen to an innocent child. How does a god allow innocent babies to suffer when criminals are disease free???
          Best wishes Tia

Embolism (and probably thrombosis) at this age?
                  That´s not nice.
I got it last year, but I am almost double her age (and even this is young for getting thrombosis and embolism).

The good side is, that because of her young age your daughter has the best chances to recover
But (if you find thrombosis) I hope you let her make an thrombophilie diagnosis (if she got it at this young age there is the risk that she got it bacause of genetic factors)

Hope everything works out well for her

Would like to throttle the ER doctor who found the "clot" according to him "you have a blood clot on your lung." When the other doctor came in today we got the real picture. She has 4 clots on her lung. She's been getting the shots in her stomach and taking another blood thinner which after she's through with the shots in 3 more days she will have to stay on the blood thinner fore the next 6 months.

She was actually doing laundry and cleaning up the night she couldn't breathe. I just feel very lucky that nothing happened and they moved because she could have died, but she didn't and that's plenty to be greatful for. Still think someone dropped the ball and this should have been caught early on, but am greatful that it was caught. So that's the scoop. The doctor said since I'm a nursing assistant that he can send her home if I'm willing to give her the injections. So hopefully that will work.

                    Thanks for the thoughts.

Where was she hurting Tia? In a leg or the chest?

Why does this happen to kids? Why does it happen to a mother with four young children? Why does it happen to a man supporting his own family as well as perhaps some of his sibling's families?

Our blood has the ability to clot to keep us from dying from minor wounds, yet to keep the clotting process from erroneously occurring inside the blood vessels there are a variety of mechanisms keeping the clotting process in check. During pregnancy the circulation of the mother and baby become intertwined. At birth the two circulations have to disengage without allowing either to bleed to death and at the same time the clotting process must be limited to the Uterus. Unfortunately sometimes these regulatory mechanisms don't work probably. My guess is that is what happened to Morgan, that the clotting probably began during or shortly after giving birth. It's also possible that she may have a blood abnormality that predisposes to abnormal clotting during certain physiologic stresses, such as birth.

How could God allow this to happen? How could God not give us a clotting system? To have failed to do so would have been disastrous, animal life would have been impossible. How could God have allowed the system to get out of whack in such a manner as to produce intra-vascular clotting? Because in biologic systems only so much precision is possible, so pathological episodes ar bound to occur.

Given the incredible complexity of biological systems it's actually pretty damn amazing that problems don't occur more often.
