HITLER CONQUERED: The Jewish community insisted that the owner of Hitler's Cross change the eatery's name.

Navi Mumbai: A restaurant in Mumbai rather shockingly named Hiter's Cross has now been forced to change its name because of public outrage against being named after a man who is the symbol of racial hatred and genocide of the Jewish community.

The Jewish community in Mumbai met on Wednesday evening and insisted that the owner of the restaurant, Puneet Sablok change the restaurant's name.

Member Jewish Community, Naomi Massil says, "We want him to change the name. We want the board which stays Hitler's Cross to come down."

On Thursday morning, Hitler's name had been covered up after a letter conveying the communty's feelings reached the restaurant and the government instituted an inquiry to find out why the name had been kept in the first place.

The owner soon buckled under the pressure.

"We've decided to change the name of the restaurant as we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings," says he.

And even though a new name hasn't been chosen as yet, Puneet Sablok's decision has already won over members of the Jewish community including 56-year-old Naomi Massil's who spearheaded the movement to rename the eatery.

"I am so happy and we will now definitely go to the restaurant," says she.

Though Hitler's name may have been dropped, the owner of the restaurant hasn't quite been vanquished and is now ready to make a new begining.

It seems incredible that there'd be people in this world who would think up a name like that and not realise that it would cause serious offense.

Maybe he will rename it to "Stalin's Statistics".

I think it's pretty funny myself.

I'd love to see someone with balls to try this in the U.S. Sadly, no one has balls anymore. Including me. I have better things to lose money on.

I think I've reached a point in my life, that I don't have to feel morally outraged at everything just because I am "supposed" to. **** that. I feel how I want to feel. Yes I'm still outraged at child molesters and the like, but not because society tells me so. I'm sick and tired of being expected to act a certain way whenever Hitler is mentioned.

Hitler was over 50 years ago. When will people get over it.

I'm sure no one would complain if they named it after Ghenghis Khan.
