For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Nah, I think it is a suitably descriptive term.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Go ask the article writer or start googling.

Yay, it's the smiley face with goggles again. You're getting predictable Dan, everytime you get caught up from supporting a blatant lie you answer with it as the message icon.

But yeah, discuss the issue not the posters: Because the entire article is based on the claim that four fifths of children grow up to vote like their parents do, I don't believe there's much to discuss until that claim is proven. And it won't be proven. So more pointless and cynical exchanges of talking points between the usual suspects will follow then, I guess. Meh.

You want that I would do your work for you? Are you lazy? If you think the number is BS, then show it. Or just say that it's BS without any backup. I don't care.

Actually these things usually deveolve into an actual refutation by another link, an attack on the source as being noncredible partisan hack site, or confirmation by another link.

BAMs saying things are lies usually doesn't fly. At the least they are usually deflected by "teh look at teh source its Rush Limbaughs site" defense.

Not in my experience, though it's been several years since I really interacted with immigrants--I moved to lily-white Caroline County two years ago. But compared to the native black population of PGC, they were typically much nicer. They didn't have the huge racial chip on their shoulder. Of course, I'm really generalizing here.

your momma is a bald assertion man. The entire article is based on this single claim which sounds widely inconceivable and which is not supported with by a single proof. If you say that a majority of all the people agree that crap sandwiches taste good because 80% of all the people say that they taste good and everyone who thinks that crap sandwiches taste bad are in a minority, people tend to look forward seeing some proof. Science is non-partisan, so even a basic survey with a 4% MoE would work.

                            but we get nothing

So, it's a crappy spam thread, with content-producer of the original poster being the actual BAM. You know, the assertion that four fifths of the children of the people who vote for party X also vote for party X?

I understand you don't beleive it. Prove it then.

I don't have to prove it precisely because it's not my claim, or as you put it, I'm not the man throwing bald assertions

the writer in the original post is the BAM, he pulled an unbelievable figure which he based his entire article on and didn't prove it

I'm not the guy who has to prove it, on the contrary I'm the guy calling "BS" and waiting for the proof.

And we all know it isn't coming. So yeah: crappy spam article linked in the original post --> crappy spam thread.
