I try to troll the blogs every week or two downloading lots of mp3s (lately I've been too lazy)

you'll find a lot of ****e, but will find some gems in there.

hmm. nu-metla is not my cup of tea.

I actually think with the lowering of production prices and the internet, modern music has never been more vibrant.

Since the start of the year. decent and better music I've purchased (newer music only)-
    Gnarls Barkley, st. elsewhere
    sufjan stevens, illinois
    belle and sebastian, life pursuit
loose fur, born again in america
    golden smog, another fine day
arctic monkeys, whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not
ben harper, both sides of the gun
    deer hoof- the runners four
    cat power- the greatest
flaming lips, at war with the mystics
    the magic numbers, selftitled

and quite a few more that I've forgotten or are from over a year ago.

If you have a really good High End System($$$), Vinyl is better than CD. I think there is no doubt about it; it's not about taste. But how the sound is recorded and played. But how much you will spend on these High system...

I agree with someone else on this thread, he said, the quality of the mastering is the most important elements of the sound.

I will say; specially in classical music! How many times we have bought a CD and we fund the sound as being bad/unexpressive. At my home I have 4 version of the 4 Seasons of Vivaldi, 2 version of the ninth symphony of Beethoven and some others one(I have many Rachmaninoff too). Younger, I used to buy cheap CD, and more I began listening to classical, more I began to be... "Selective".

I have a turntable at my appt and some of my vinyls, are already own by me, but in their CD version.

When I’m listening to these records on my sound system, I prefer the sound of vinyl over CD. It's hard to say why, it's a feeling; the sound seems richer, more expressive.

Many people thinks that DVD-A will be the revolution, that audiophile was waiting with CD.

The delicious irony here is that Dylan is the lead for the iPod's new advertising campaign. CDs never sounded so good!
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

And he's the host of an XM satellite radio program. Don't check the bitrate on that, Bob!

I like his new cd. I don't know about the other.
