A complaint doesn't even have to be generated by the person being harrassed. A 3rd party can be offended, and complain.

I know. Nothing he says is about me, it's always about women. I still complain.

Just curious but why do you WANT to report harrassment of others at all. I'm not saying you shouldn't, I'm just curious as to your reasons. Are you truly offended and trying to eliminate such conduct . . . are you hoping this manager gets fired and you can advance . . . or do you have some other motivation entirely?

Why should any person be made to feel uncomfortable at work?
What if it was your wife? Mother? Daughter? You?
          Would you resent it?

What Sloww said, plus I want the guy fired.

Not so I can advance, but because he is a lying sack of sheit that shouldn't be working in an FDA regulated environment. I am insulted to be working for him.

Hey -- As I specifically said before-- I WAS NOT SAYING HE SHOULD NOT REPORT IT

I would likely be the same way and report stuff but I was curious as to HIS reasons . . . mainly because the OP was a mention of a bad work situation that he might want to exploit. Let's just say that the OP did not exactly resonate with taking the moral high ground

Do you people like having drama like this at work?
Do you think it makes your job more entertaining?

I'd have to agree. Though I may talk with the woman first to see if it really bothers her. Some women like to be called honey and such.

I have to agree with this as well. I had my fill last May and June. Some of you may have seen my thread about an incompetant gay coworker. I only mention he's gay because I think that's why they couldn't fire him. But this guy was recording our phone conversations to try to get us in trouble. Though he didn't record mine specifically, just a friend I know.

I got in so much trouble for reporting this. It never pays to report employees breaking the law or breaking the rules. I'm going to try to not get involved in workplace politics in the future.

But then again, this plays into the empoloyers hands. They want everyone to look out just for themselves, and not give a **** about their fellow employees. It gives them more leverage.

Who knows, if a similar situation arose, I'd probably do the same thing. . I'm a sucker.
