They've written in the guidebook there's no direct link to qal'at an-nagm, the Star Castle over Euphrates, it is not true, though. You can get there either taking a minibus to Menbig and then to this place, or to the village mentioned in Lonely Planet (sth Kabir).
Menbig is probably the ugliest city in Syria, btw.
Anyway, it's part of the mosque on the cementaty.

A view on Euphrates from the entrance to the castle.
It is now part of the Asad's lake, actually.
The castle may be closed, but with some effort You can climb it from another side. The guy guarding the castle is a *****, don't sleep at his place or whatever.
