well first of all, any bagels being served in shul shabbat morning cant be fresh, since the shul couldnt have purchased anything or had anything delivered since Friday afternoon - in fact, they may even use frozen bagels. and of course you cant toast them on shabbat morning.

and POTM is not a big fan of cream cheese. She prefers butter on her bagels, and they dont usually have butter at Kiddush.
