My parents pay a little over 6 cents per kwh, averaging peak and non-peak. Ohio.
Things are a little more expensive here in DC, but nothing near those CA rates.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

So 2-5 cents per mile as opposed to 10 cents per mile (for an efficient car). Still not half bad... I'm fairly sure in the midwest we get better electricity rates than that, anyway. Certainly less complexity than the above described system of silliness.
Not bad, but since you're paying way more, sacrificing range, and refuel convenience (no long, windy mountain roads for this roadster), the difference between saving 9 cents a mile and 5 or so cents a mile eats into any cost justification.
For a car costing 100k, it's neither here nor there - the fuel cost savings won't ever justify purchase price. Somehow, I don't think the majority of the marketplace with 100k to throw down on a toy is going to go "green" as opposed to "midlife-crisis bimbo magnet."
When all else fails, blame brown people. | Hire a teen, while they still know it all. | Trump-Palin 2016. "You're fired." "I quit."
Yeah, but *different* midlife crisis bimbo magnet could work...

Hello there! I see you are discussing Fuel economy. Perhaps I can be of assistance.
Human-animal hybrids are the bane of the Clinton administration. If Hillary is to somehow assume power, it will be Columbine all over again. Until we have complete access to Middle East oil, posters like Imran will have to count their blessings and consider riding their T-34 tanks to the Cuban border. The liberals are bending all of their wicked energies to helping Middle America forget the Bay of Pigs.
