If that's the case, it just goes to show the depths that communists will go to distort the truth.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Which isn't really an unusual reaction for a monarch in fear of your life and position. From her POV it was a matter of restoring order. Royals across Europe were revulsed by what was going on in France and Marie-Antoinette was no exception to that.

Beinbg a mother of two isn't a magical "get out of trouble, free" card when you try to instigate war, and when your extravagant useless expanses put a significant extra weight on the life standards of an impoverished peasantry.
The extravagance came along with the institution that was the French Court. An institution she did not create nor shaped, and of which she was part without her own choosing. The evilness resided with the institution, not so much with the agents. It was good the institution was brought down, but that doesn't mean the individuals have to be dehumanized.

And as said before, the movie simply doesn't put the focus on the political events of the time, but on her personal experiences. I don't see what's so threatening about that.

It's not threatening. It's just misleading.

But considering your opinion about flags (especially about the Belgian flag), I can understand that you can fall for such spin.

Misleading of what? The movie isn't exactly presenting her or Louis XVI as frugal, broad-minded or worldly-wise. It's been over 2 centuries ago, about time for you to accept she might have also been a lively person and a caring mother.

Marie Antoinette as a lost, confused mother without any real control over her life or her country is not a useful image for radicals trying to overthrow the state. 200 years later, that same image proves the corruption and failure of the institution of the monarchy itself.

Spiffor, if you need the revolutionary image still, then don't see the movie.

Actually, just yesterday, I argued with a fellow commie that our capitalist leaders are not evil, but are products of the system.

And that if we commies want to successfully replace capitalism, we shouldn't be as simplistic as believing we are just fighitng against a few bad guys, but actually against a system.

I argue all the time. I love it. Else, why the heck would I waste so much time here?

As to my stance toward Marie-Antoinette, I couldn't care less about her. I just provided a little folklore.

Wow, what a big step. Must've been hard. Did you hurt yourself?

                      Get it now?

Well, it's been my position for years now.

Many world leaders also happen to be scum, but even if they were all nice guys, the world's economic system would barely be different.

Spiffor makes a non-cynical comment finally, and Arrian promptly jumps on him. Ease up, dude.
