Let's just forget the Aryan invasion debate , because most of the evidence is linguistic . As I said before , I'd rather not go into it .

What is more important is that not only are these abuses being perpetrated , but even the governments of the concerned countries are not just turning a blind eye to them , but also sometimes even actively encouraging them , and the world community turns a blind eye , whereas routine bureaucratic ponderousness in dealing with riots in Godhra is made a hue and cry over .

In the case of the one anti-Muslim riot in Indian history , the government called in the army against the rioters within 72 hours . More Hindus were killed in police firing than Muslims . Yet the government of India is accused of "aiding and abetting" the rioters . I don't understand the double standard . Why is it OK to bash one government but not another , specially when the "another" is committing far worse crimes ?

India's history since 1947 has also been pock-marked by several bloody riots between Hindus and Muslims. The riots in Gujarat in 1969, Jamshedpur and Aligarh in 1979 and Moradabad in 1980 are a few to quote for their virulence.

In Gujarat in 2002 alone, there were riots in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, etc. That's more than two right there. Mosques and historical Muslim buildings were destroyed too, btw (i.e. worse damage that "Hindu Temple in Lahore razed"):

Alas Pakistan has been an important US ally since the 1950s, which means that the US government sometimes turns a blind eye towards events in Pakistan. Consider though that the relationship between the US and Pakistan probably ameliorates their behavior somewhat. Without that relationship there is no telling what you'd be facing on your western border. You might possibly have a Taliban like regime to deal with.

Also consider that if Nehru and Indira Ghandi hadn't thought it wise to play the US and the USSR against each other India might have allied with the US. Then Pakistan would not have been such an important link in America's cold war strategy.
