Man, haven't you ever tried to hold a conversation with Mark and Dan?

Markos is always an ass (if John dropped off the face of the earth suddenly, rather than expressing concern for him Markos pretty much demands an explanation -- a bit selfish maybe), and DanQ is always so verbose, legalese, and downright aggravating.

I've had many PMs with them both and they're perhaps the least socially competent people on this site. Say what you want about me, but I can make posts without [all of the] insertions(sic) of an [aggravated] and [perhaps overzealous] (and demonstrably lacking in content) posts on this [web]site, Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS), established as the merger [between] two of the most [hideous] [web]sites on ths face of this planet. I can also make posts without Markos' genuinely self-centred and I-don't-care-what-you-think attitude (my code is fine, I'm a frickin porofessiaional!)

Although nobody's perfect, I think your perception of these two people is rather colored by your interactions with them. Perhaps the context of your interactions has something to do with the attitude that is expressed

I'll repeat what I said earlier ...

There were no e-mails, nor anything else to indicate why he (presumably) chose to stop responding to calls and/or posting on the forum.

Or lack thereof. DanQ refuses to respond to most PMs that are actually important, and MarkG invents rules as he sees fit and then refuses to discuss them reasonably via PM.

For instance, I'm sure most people here weren't aware you can be banned from Apolyton for something you say on another site, even if you are a paying Plus subscriber. To me, this shows how very little they value their business they run (though they deny it is a business, they are accepting payment for service). And I think the whole f*ckup that was the convention showed that to a little more people. I'm sure JohnT knows more about it now.

And if any of you have the misfortune of ever trying to deal with DanQ or MarkG and you don't see eye to eye, they basically **** in your eyesocket and hope you like it. Go figure that JohnT had enough.

JohnT has been here for ages, and I bet he knew Markos well enough before starting organizing the convention.

Also, There was a time where JohnT hadn't posted for monthes (back when his business was at its worst, which coupled with personal hardships IIRC). He might be having a grave problem in his life right now. Or mayber, being an enterprising man, he has started a new project and is in a self-inflicted exile for the time he sets it up.

There are many possible reasons why JohnT hasn't posted. Unless you have insider knowledge, it is very cheap of you, that you use JohnT's absence in your vendetta against Markos

Given JohnT's comments to Markos and Dan before his disappearance, it isn't a big leap at all to assume there were major conflicts behind the scenes.

Neither Markos nor Dan are man enough to admit this, if it is true anyway. They still stand by their appointment of Urban Ranger as a moderator.

Plus, I'm told by people in attendance Markos and Dan weren't saying good things about me at the conference. If you want to talk about being cheap, talk to them.

Not only do they invent rules on whim and have zero communication skills and appoint a censorship-supporting communist with a well-displayed lack of common sense as moderator, they will refuse to talk to you for long periods of time -- and then when they do talk, it's either direct insults (in Markos' case) or frustrating political dancing (in Dan's case). I air my comments in public, and Mark and Dan reserve their comments to PM (and then ban people for showing how unprofessional and childish they are via PM) and talk trash about someone at the conference who isn't attending. They both need to grow a spine.
