    I'm not a leftist apologist. I'm a leftist.

Unlike you, Lancer, I don't think of the U.S. as my "team," that I always need to root for, no matter what. I know my country can be wrong. I think of America as my family.

If my brother went out and committed murder, I wouldn't support him no matter what. I'd turn his ass in to the cops, first trying to convince him to turn himself in. Well, I deal with my country the same way. I try and convince it that it's wrong, and hope that it gets stopped from doing wrong if I can't get it to stop on its own.

Our country is doing wrong. It needs to be stopped, since we can't seem to stop it ourselves.

In other words, it's not: My Country, Right or Wrong. Its: My Country, Right It's Wrongs!

as for there being many groups not in the 11, I'm sure they're watching and if the 11 can get the US to agree to leave within 2 years, a bunch of groups will sign on. And this would place some of the burden of peacekeeping on the insurgent groups, if they allow terrorist groups to operate within their areas they'd get blamed for the attacks.

Yup, the left wanted the US defeated when they said there was not enough proof Saddam did not have WMD's

and when they said it would not be a cakewalk

and when they said tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of civilians would be killed

and when they said it would disenfranchise our allies

and when they said it would end up possibly costing hundreds of billions (not 1.7 billion as some administration officials said)

and when they found Cheneys "last throes" and Rumsfeld's "dead enders" comments comical

When they said killing Zarqawi would not make much of a difference

        Or capturing Saddam

But, hey, I gotta give it to the Bushpologists, you all have a wide eyed innocence and optimism about you from day one that would be cute, if it weren't so ignorant.

Hell, there are still those of you that think if maybe we pray harder, and think more positive thoughts, that things will be OK in Iraq after all.

If you watch, or don't watch the baseball game on tv, has absolutely no effect on whether your team wins or loses.

You're focused on hatred for Bush. I'm focused on the setting up of a representative government in Iraq that will destabilize the extremeist regimes in the region.

No, I'm focused on stopping my country from doing evil and making it a better place.

There will be no representive government in Iraq. 1,400 people died in Baghdad last month! There's a ****ing civil war going on! The elections were shams, marred by massive fraud by the Shi'ites. Neither the Kurds nor the Sunnis want to be in a country dominated by the Shi'ites. We totally ****ed everything up. The country is worse of than when it was under Hussein. That's really saying something. And WE CAN'T FIX IT except by getting out of the way and letting them murder each other until they're sick of the bloodshed. And we're going to be paying the price for this criminal stupidity you and your fellow Repugs foisted upon us.

              Good for your intentions.

              But the left was right.

The right was wrong, on almost every single count.

So your good intentions don't do anything when they are based in ignorance.

              destabilize extremist regimes.

Iran's regime was destabilizing, before this little medling of the United States next door.

Before we invade Iraq, Iran had a moderate government and the people of Iran were pushing for greater freedoms. Since we invaded, the conservatives have pushed the moderates out of power and the Iranian people have united behind their government. Those idiots can't even destablize properly.

In the meantime, we've set up an extremist government in Iraq, extrmists are wining elections across the ME where they weren't before.

Do you even pay any attention to reality, Lancer?

Are leftists in their hearts masochists?

Do you need a good whipping from me?

I really enjoy whipping people in Civ 4.

Victory is indeed at hand in Iraq. Why would the various mainstream Sunni resistance factions agree to this deal? The US needs some semblance of a political deal so it can withdraw with the pretence that it hasn't been beaten. This is similar to the Paris Peace Accord in the Vietnam War. The US needed a pretend "peace" deal so it could cut and run. Once it had done so, the North Vietnamese cleared the field with the puppet regime the US had abandoned.

Rummy has rejected the offer... So the message to the insurgents is keep fighting because we aint leaving. But Rummy's reason is bizarre, he said "no timetable". But there is a timetable, Bush said we would stand down when Iraq stands up. Thats our exit strategy, thats our timetable. Or is it? Are we planning on staying longer than needed? Oh yeah, we need Iraq to invade Iran...

When Helen Thomas asked Tony Snow if we were building permanent bases in Iraq, he replied "define permanent"

The bases being built in Iraq are being built to house American weaponry and equipment.

I think we plan on having tens of thousands of troops there for decades, if not forever.

But hey, at least they aren't in Saudi Arabia anymore, so Bin Laden should stop being pissed off. :P
