Even Osama. Wouldn't it be much better if he could be magically converted into a peace loving hippie rather than killed?

Deary, deary me. I know MOBIUS can be somewhat 'provocative' in his approach to these matters, but the responses I have seen, well, I haven't seen such a display of f*ckwittedness in quite some time

The original post was the ultimate display of ****wittedness in this thread. Everything else pales in comparison.

I seem to remember dancing when Zarqawi was killed, and when Hussein's sons were killed. Not that I'm putting Flowers in the same boat. Just putting to the lie that no one's deaths should ever be celebrated. Although I am opposed to the death penalty, there are definately some people I think the world would be a better place for being without. Again, not necessarily Flowers.

How many young men that Flowers recruited die? How many people did the young men Flowers recruited kill?

To be fair, none of them are responsible for as many deaths as the first sailors who inadvertently brought the Black Death to Europe, and we don't call them evil. It's a matter of intentions. He was not trying to start a civil war via acts of terrorism as far as we know, nor did he do grotesque stuff like kidnapping brides and raping them on their wedding nights, as with the Hussein bros. I gather from what's been said here that he honestly believed that he was serving a good cause, albeit he may have been a bit oily about it (dunno; I never saw F. 9/11).

Zarqawi thought he was serving God. What better cause can there be?

One would say that the greatest sacrifice is giving your life in the protection of others... But hey, what the hell, let's go plant some roadside bombs. (sarcasm Che, not attacking your statement, just the morality of the soldier versus the insurgent)

Any proof Qusay did any of that?

I found the death of Qusay sad, actually. He was just the son of Saddam Hussein. It is good to hear he died defending Iraq, but believe he could have been a great leader.

But I saw plenty of cheering.
