Lt has done more for a longer period than Shaun. Sure Shaun has been a top back for some time and he made the most of it last season, but he's nothing like LT. LT will be totally targeted this year without Brees as a threat. Teams will take away LT and force Rivers to beat them. Seattle OTOH has upgraded their receiving corps.
Both these guys have a lot of miles on 'em and I wouldn't be surprised if they both got nicked up this year. If I had to choose between 'em, I'd probably to with Alexander.

In 2003 Brees was horrid (it was the year that convinces the Chargers to get Rivers) and Flutie wasn't the savior. David Boston was on the only reciever to matter. Gates' first year and he did little. LT's stat line, you ask?

5.3 yards/rush
13 TDs
100 receptions
725 yards recieving
7.2 yards/reception
4 TDs
And it wasn't like he snuck up on anyone (look at his 2002 stat line).

Don't get me wrong, I think LT is a god. I would have taken him #1 in 2005. This year, his team could suck. Which means less scoring. So this year, I'd take Shaun ahead of him.

The team has sucked before, and LT has still been a beast. He had 1600 combined yards in 2001, despite being a rookie on a 5-11 team.
What else does he need to do? Does he need to return punts? Play strong safety?
