Can't blame Crouch for not sparkling in that role, in fact he did very well.

I wasn't referring to the end of the last game so much, more of a general commentary on what I've seen so far.
I don't recall him ever seeming dangerous on anything but header opportunities. He can't dribble particularly well, isn't physical enough anywhere but up in the air (when he isn't turning the ball over due to climbing on the defender), isn't fast and from what I've seen doesn't pass all that well either. By World Cup standards he seems a bit of a one trick pony. I've only seen him play in the World Cup, so take that with a grain of salt.

You've watched Crouch being misused by the England team. Despite his height he isn't a particularly good header of the ball. Get the ball to his feet and he's usually pretty good. The England team have seemed content to knock high balls forward to him throughout the tournament so you wouldn't have seen him at his best. The only time when he got the ball to his feet on a regular basis was in the Portugal game - far and away his best game of the tournament.

Edit: Crouch was adjudged to have fouled defenders during the tournament far more often than he actually did. It's not at all unusual for referees to look at an aerial tussle between two players, mismatched in terms of height, and assume that the big guy is preventing the smaller from competing. In one game in particular - I believe it was against Paraguay - did this happen a lot.

Fifa has suspended European champions Greece and its member clubs from international competition because of government interference in the sport.
World governing body Fifa said the Hellenic Football Federation had broken rules on "the independence of members and decision-making in each country".

It means Greek clubs and officials are banned from European competitions.

I expect Spurs' lawyers will be demanding that they take a Greek spot in the CL. After all they were nearly fourth in the EPL, and they do genuinely believe that they were deliberately poisoned on the last day, and it's not fair, it's not fair ...

What are you using to "clean up" (de-click, de-pop) the wavs? If you havent tried it, take a look at "Wave corrector". It was a great program when I was converting my vinyl.

May I just take this opportunity to congratulate Germany not only for all the good football they've been playing, but also for their awesome penalty-taking. The only English player that can take a penalty is Owen Hargreaves, and he is based in the German game. The Bundesleague is clearly doing something right when it comes to the correct mental attitude.

Nero Wave Editor, only because it was included in the Instant Music package from ADS. Not bad and simple to use. I note your recommendation for difficult cases. Thanks.
