Neill did nothing wrong, he was lying still on the ground long before Grosso let himself stumble over him. The ref stole the match for Italy, so amazingly another one of Europe's top referees screws up big-time

I thought Italy did really well with ten, and deserved to go through as the better side. The Aussies had loads of the ball and couldn't break through, then Italy got it up the other end and nicked one. Classic one-nil to the ten men.

Wasn't a red card for Materazzi what everyone in Italy had been predicting?

That's why I said last two lines. Time of possession can be a pretty good indicator.
