Yes he can. Long enough to be able to judge where the ball is going to be kicked. Or how do you explain Ricardo being a such a good penalty stopper. Luck?

A good goalie can stop all penalties that aren't kicked out of his reach. And luckily there usually are enough players stupid enough not to go for the corners, or not sharp enough and shooting wide or over when trying.
