Venus is more commonly visible in the morning, iirc. Hence the "morning star".

According to the star map, Jupiter is to your south, while mars and saturn (mars being more visible) are to your west. Oh, and Pluto's to the east (good luck with that).

This is to the southeast. There is no moon, maybe that's why it is so bright.
