Ronaldo is probably the best diver in the world (Robben, Cole, Drogba and the rest of the Chelsea squad notwithstanding). He's a massive loss for the bunch of cheats.

Each team finished with nine men after Russian referee Valentin Ivanov took centre stage in Sunday's second-round match, creating a World Cup finals record for red cards in one match.

"I consider that today the referee was not at the same level as the participants, the players. There could have been a yellow card for the referee," Blatter told Portugal's SIC television channel.

"This was a game of emotion, with exceptional drama in the last instant, with a deserved winner.

"It was a great show with intervention by the referee that was not consistent and (had) lack of fair play by some players."

Really, while Prtugal isn't the nicest team either (I really dislike Figo and don't give much for Deco either), the Dutch were out of scope.

You're right that van Bommel (who 'fainted' after the headbut) made a show as well. He's just not good at it. He god a headbut anyway and his niple was ripped out of his life by Figo's hand though. But indeed, he shouldn't have 'fallen'. As I said, the dutch tried to counter the sneakyness of by copying it now and then. van Bommel is known for this.

And no, Boulahrouz didn't deserve a yellow card for something that wasn't an elbow. Figo lowered his head and Boula just passed him in something that's a normal duel.
