People in general tend to be lazy.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

At work the smartest people tend to do the minimium nessary to get by/a promotion/a raise/etc.

      What do you think?
I think that describes me pretty well.

I am by far, the most intelligent person I know, and I've definitely accomplished the least. Sounds about right.

Hmm, I was wondering. I'm not lazy, I'm too clever for my own good.

Everybody is lazy. Why do any more work then you have to, if you are smart you can come up with ways get out of doing more work.

Like I always say, laziness is the mother of invention.

It's a mixed bag. Certainly, some of the smart people have latched onto the concept of the marginal value of work. For them, it's not worth 4 or 5 hours a day of work to move their GPA from a 3.7 to a 4.0.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Damn straight. Getting on the dean's list is going to mean almost jack squat in the long run.

I'm a perfect example myself. Though in high school, I could get good grades and be lazy. It didn't work so well at Georgia Tech

I took 5 AP classes one year... and people are like whoa! 5 APs, wtf!? I generally neglect to tell them that I never had more homework than I could finish while in some class busy ignoring the teacher

                            3.7

More like 3.2. If I'd had a 3.7 from McGill (along with my other stuff) then I would have gotten in to Harvard instead of being brutally rebuffed...
