Many drugs do harm to the liver and pancreas, not short term but long term. Lungs as well. Heart as well.

How would you deal with this, supplying a substance that is detrimental over a long term and thus causing major health issues?

At least they would have clean drugs, not safe but at least not full of disease.

On the other hand, if someone is cleaning up their act, on rehab, offer them health care until they can move on and get it from work or move to Canada or something.

I remember my days in Germany, "THE WALL" which is legalized prostitution, not sure if still there, 1978 been awhile ago

The comparison doesn't really apply imo. The red light districts did nothing to solve the problem of prostitution, just disease. The drug camp would remove the problem almost entirely as abusers died off and pushers/growers/manufacturers went out of business.

Lancer, your plan only addresses those that attend, not those that dont, thus it is an option for some, for those that chose to abuse themselves this way, still you would have other locations not set up in the way you dream of, my comparision was that germany put Prostition in one "redlight" district.

Oh and as for the disease being solved, Hooker A goes in and gets examined on June 1 she sleeps with 15-25 people a night and reuires being checked every 14 days. Whats to say some surly dude doesnt infect her in between?

Very true about the hookers.

The drug abusers, the ones that do the hard stuff, can't hold down a job and commit the crimes to support their habit would jump at the prospect of free drugs imo. I believe these make up the backbone of the problem for society. Getting them off the streets would solve many problems.

It's worth a try to see if we, as a society, can break the habit and save the next generation of kids.

Im not sure this is the way, but am sure what we are currently doing is wrong. I dont trust the Government. I love America but dont trust the average politician. I think they do much for self satisfaction, for profit.

I honestly believe if the Government cant make money on it, they dont care about many programs.

Just my cynical self speaking, no proof positive that Politicians are crooked or the judicial system doesnt work

condom use is required. Sure that doesn't protect against things like crabs. But oh well.

Mainly two types of drug users.

Users, who basically filfull Che's categories of user and abuser.

And then addicts, where all the problems lie.

It's not the use of the drug thats the problem, its the addiction.

Also, to assume drug use is the result of some inner unhappiness is retarded. True in some cases does not mean true in majority or all. Theres multiple reasons why multiple people take drugs.
