How do you feel about drug users

Be honest now. And how do you feel about them if they onced used heavy drugs but kicked the habit? And also mention if you have any friends or family that use drugs on a regular basis.

I'll be honest. I don't like them. Even though my brother uses drugs. I'm not sure of the ones he uses. I think crystal meth, but I'm not sure. He messed himself up pretty good. He wasn't always this dumb, he did graduate high school and could get C's in school. But he's almost to the point now he's mentally retarded. This might be a slight exaggeration, but only slight. I hate talking to him. I have no respect for him, or his lifestyle.

But then again, drugs are the reason we have such enjoyable music to listen to. . But I don't know musicians personally, and don't want to.

But I do respect people who used drugs, and kicked the habit.

sometimes. I wouldn't even classify it as regular drinking.

And it doesn't have any permanent effect on my personality like the drugs my brother used/uses. I'm not sure what all he took, but he took a lot the past 25 years.

I just find it kind of pathetic that people give up on life to the point they have to numb themselves to life. They just can't deal with life. I won't deny I have felt this way from time to time, but I always get back up on my feet again. I have never given up completely, even though sometimes I think I do, my actions dictate otherwise. I still keep trying at this game of life...

And no, I don't drink alcohol to numb myself. I don't even drink it when pissed off or depressed. I drink it to loosen my social inhibitions. Hence, I only drink it on social occasions, and don't abuse it.

I have a very limited amount of sympathy for anyone that is hooked on a drug. Anyone that recreationally uses anything from alcohol on up and hurts no one else? ... I consider that none of my business.

The addicts ? Sometimes I pity them but generally I look at them as weak. I know that may not be fair but I am sick of the Heroin bums downtown that are just out begging for cash to get their next fix. Meanwhile our city has a job vacancy rate that is now in the double-digits for almost everything (heck fast food joints are reducing hours due to lack of staff!!) so there are jobs available

I once knew a guy who got so drunk, he couldn't even get it up to screw his wife on new years eve.

How am I to respect that?

The point of drinking alcohol is to screw women, not incapacitate yourselves to the point you can't screw women. Kids today have it all wrong. where have they learned these values.

I don't differentiate by addiction. If someone hurts no one else, its none of my business and I say to each their own

Users - Waste of space
People who've kicked habit - Human.

I remember growing up with a kid for something like 13 years we were really close mates living only a few doors from each other. When we went to different schools though it wasnt long for him to start hanging around with some idiots and he was into heavy drinking, smoking, class C drugs and then onto the A's. Took about 1 year for him to go from a good kid to some local junkie stealing his mothers jewellery to buy whatever he wanted a shot of.
I don't feel any sympathy at all for people who die from taking drugs, it's their decision and in the same way I'm not much into the liberal view of it's down mostly to their environment. Grow some balls and say no for once in your life.
However what also irritates me is the people who do get absolutely p***ed out of their minds drinking and then have the hypocritical view that smoking a joint is evil.
