If people are using the word 'gay' to mean something like 'naff' (whatever happened to that word?), I'm surprised if they hadn't considered how it has recently come to mean that in some quarters. Personally I have never used it that way, and nor will I - as it would appear to associate gayness with crapness and therefore to be insulting.
The last time I described something as gay was synchronised diving, which I may have seen during the last olympics, not because it was crap (though I thought it was crap) because it appeared to be a sport which might have a particular appeal to gay men, and it seems that quite a few people agreed with me. I expect Mr !Fun will flame me for saying that, but there we go ...
Hold the Presses!! - I just found something very, very wierd. I used the word 'naff' above, and looked it up to see where it actually came from.
Apparantly it comes from gay slang and used to dismissively describe hetrosexual people!
