Whatever, they just add loads of 000s without being at all believable.

The Empire got whacked by a bunch of cowboys in go-karts with wings.

Does the Empire have Teleporters? No.

That's more a commentary on the suppose "threat" the Borg pose rather than any skill on behalf of the Voyager crew.

No, but they do have shields. And their weapons can tear through Feddie shields like tissue paper.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

Since Fed ships move at warp speed, those lasers could never hit. Oops.

Fed shields are immune to lasers. We went over this.

Star Wars weapons aren't lasers. We've been over this

As to the sound in space thing, the (lame) rationalization given is that starfighters have a built-in sound warning thingy that makes noises when things 'splode and lasers shoot past.

Except when they don't, unless you are saying they move faster than light...in orbit of planets.

I know you're trolling, but I'll respond again anyway.

The physics "explanation" of Star Wars weapons says that they basically shoot gobs of plasma-y stuff contained in energy fields.

I feel no shame about this, since Star Trek is as bad or worse with the technobabble.

Oh yes, just like Borg Cubes are immune to phasers and Torpedos, but in First Contact it was torn the **** up before the E arrived.

Are you familiar with the term "yield"?

The force is not balanced while the Jedi are in control... there are hundreds of them and only 2 Sith. Anakin helps to kill all the Jedi bar Yoda and Kenobi, leaving them opposed to Sidious and Vader; balance. Vader then rises up and destroys the Sith and himself, so there are no Jedi or Sith left from the old Republic, leaving Luke to start afresh..
Aye, realised the force wasn't in balance when the Jedi were in control but thought the Jedi woulda liked to keep it that way and wondered how they managed to misread such an obvious prophecy of the chosen ones turn to the dark side.

Though I suppose they allow for this when Yoda says in the Revenge of the Sith "Prophecy misread, may have been". They never really tell you much about the prophecy except theres a chosen one who's gonna bring balance to the force.

Thanks for explaining the prophecy out for all the movies

No, it's a commentary on how far ST has gone downhill in the past decade. Voyager was an absolutely atrocious tv show with predictable, rehashed scripts which preferred technobabble over continuity, dramatic or character development and in which the main characters were grand heros who never made any mistakes, always found perfect solutions for every moral dilmma and managed to overcome every adversity without real sacrifice or even effort. And if something did threaten to go horribly wrong (e.g. Year of Hell), everything was magically reset 2 minutes before the end of the show and everyone came off unharmed.

In the later seasons the crew went face-to-face with the Borg on a weekly basis and not only came off unharmed but may well have completely destroyed them towards the end of the series: a single small, undermanned ship stranded far from home without any support versus a deadly race that assimilates entire worlds in a matter of hours and a single cube of which almost destroyed the entire Federation in TNG. The franchise lost every last shred of credibility when that started happening, and Enterprise didn't do a whole lot to redeam it (the last season was going in the right direction but too little too late -- and the series finale pretty much canceled out any goodwill built up during the rest of the season). Battlestar Galactica has pretty much the same premise as ST:Voyager but is a gazillion times better.

Of course, SW never had any redeeming qualities to begin with (other than great special effects), so if you're gonna measure dicks, ST wins on principle.
