I think GWB is suffering by being unapologetically controversial and stubborn. The negative views will pass, as they did with the likes of Truman.

By the way, Truman had a 25% approval rating as he exited, but is now considered in the upper end of the 2nd tier of presidents.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I cross-edited you with regard to Truman. Korea was a much bigger deal than Iraq, for instance.

And I'm sure there are examples of Presidents who left office unpopular and remained unpopular. Which I think will be Bush the Younger's fate.

He's made daddy look pretty good, though.

But ask Irman...he will go on and on and on about how bad Kennedy is until you have to hit him in the head with a hammer to shut him up.

Imagine if the reality was not just 4 more years with Bush, but that Bush might be Presidente for life.

Oh, and we must not forget that Darth Cheney still might be the next president.

I'd love to see Cheney win the Republican nomination and run for president. That would be hilarious.

Why is Kennedy so bad? Wasn't he like one of the best US President ever? Or so I've heard.

I dunno. Nearly causing the world to end in a nuclear apocalypse over something that could have been handled quietly tends to have a detrimental effect on my opinion of the man.

I find it amusing that no one questions throwing Carter in there.

Actually I was about to say this

"Since I have memory, I can only remember 2 truly bad USA presidents, Bush junior and Carter"
