I don't see where that enters into it. Germany and France always give 12 points to Turkey.

Yet people keep getting riled up about e.g. Cyprus giving 12 to Greece, willfully closing their eyes for the voting patterns that are really interesting..

Can you back up your claims about Germany and France ALWAYS giving 12 points to Turkey?

We can even include Netherlands and Belgium. I'm sure you will start to see a pattern.

According to Wikipedia and the Eurovision website,

In 2006, Turkey received 12 points from Germany, 12 from France, 12 from Netherlands and 7 from Belgium. They finished in 11th place.

In 2005, Turkey received 12 points from France, 12 from Netherlands, 10 from Germany and 10 from Belgium. They finished in 13th place.

In 2004, Turkey received 12 points from France, 12 from Germany, 12 from Netherlands and 12 from Belgium. They finished in 4th place.

In 2003, Turkey received 12 points from Netherlands, 12 from Belgium, 10 from Germany and 10 from France. They finished in 1st place.

How true. That's just the way it is. Germany has a large enough contingent of Turkish immigrants. The same story with the Baltic countries and their Russia minorities. And with Ukraine. And Belorussia probably didn't even have a real televote, Lukashenko assigned which country gets what beforehand.

              I don't see a suspicious pattern. You're becoming paranoid

                Over a 4-year-period,

                Germany: 10, 12, 10, 12 = 44 out of a possible 48
                France: 10, 12, 12, 12 = 46 out of a possible 48
                Netherlands: 12, 12, 12, 12 = 48 out of a possible 48
                Belgium: 12, 12, 10, 7 = 41 out of a possible 48

Nope, no pattern there at all, TedLegion.

Next year Finland's host should be Markus Kajo

In order to win, a country needs more than the usual bloc votes. That's what happened in 2003. This year's winner, take note, received votes across the board, with only three countries not awarding any to the winner. You can't win with bloc voting, unless you can net enough points from the countries outside the bloc as well. The bloc can, though, be a deciding factor if the contest is very close.
