Yes, last year.

The old Macromedia wbsite was up until recently, so I guess the must finally have finished integrating the data with Adobe's website.

That'll be good, cuz I always hated how slow and annoying the macromedia website was when trying to find extensions for Dreamweaver.

You find me a better text editor than Dreamweaver and you can laugh all you want. I don't even use the design window, except on the rare occassion I need to create a data table.

Why must webdesigners pretend to be "better than the rest" by saying they create their websites all out in code? So what if you know the code? No professional web designer is going to build their website by typing it all out in code view, unless they wanted to refresh their memory or do it just for the hell of it. It takes far far too long to create a website that way; what would normally take me a few hours, would end up taking about 5 days.

Of course Dreamweaver sucks at it sometimes, but you just simply finish the webpage in Design view, then go to the code and just fix it up where it needs fixing.

I'm glad Adobe bought Macromedia; MM is constantly having problems with bugs, but Adobe has the reputation of making solid products.

And for the record, Adobe Photoshop's freehand tool is far better than Macromedia Freehand's freehand tool.

And Fireworks is a joke, Macromedia considers it to be one of their "minor" products. It's more like a toy, infact I think it was for free when it first came out, not sure if it still is or not.

Not really, not after you have been doing that for a while.

For me, the design part isn't time consuming. The time consuming part is trying to make the design work in MSIE. That's such a PITA.

UR, I have been building websites for coming to 12 years now, I disagree with everything you just said.

1. You would have to be the fastest typer just to catch up to professional webdesigner doing it in design view, and I still think the design view guy would win. Think about it, by the time you have finished typing < table > he is already adding the row and column numbers in the table window. It's just obvious.

And you say you have a hard time getting it to work for IE? WHY? IE is great! Honestly, I don't know what the praise is for Firefox, IE's compatibility and stability DOES surpass Firefox in this regard, I know this because I have to use both extensively for testing, for some reason, 1 out of every 5 websites I build, I run into a basic problem that Firefox can't understand and I have to go around searching for an answer, some which I have discovered do not even have a solution. But IE, well, it just knows the language, and it just works.
