  • Why are we so known as boring? I never really got that part.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

I think, apart from nationalist feels, the reason people like or dislike flags is personal preference - so something a bit less boring and unimaginative than just three horizontal or vertical stripes please...
That is sooooooooo against the holy rule of abstraction.

Why that ? I think it's a fine abstraction of Welsh women
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

        • Good flags use purely abstract, geometric forms. Though I guess dragons and lions are somewhat acceptable. However, a bear like the flag of California smacks of philistinism.

I'm pleasantly surprised that you said something sensible, for once

            • What really bothers me about the Welsh flag is the use of green and red next to each other. They don't combine well.

              • Yup. Them are opposing colour. It can result to greatness in a flag such a Italy's, but it can also result to horror, such as the Wlesh or (horror) the Bulgarian flag.

                  • What the difference is between the Italian and the Welsh flag is that a neutral colour like white divides them, so that they don't clash.

Well all a flag is supposed to do is identify the bearer, so as long as that objective is achieved who gives a rat's arse what it looks like.

You two are just jealous cos you've got boring tricolors (oh look, I've used the word 'boring' in the same sentence as 'Belgium' again... )

As I said before it is down to personal prefences. I happen to like the Welsh flag. I also don't see anything wrong with the Bulgarian or Romanian colour schemes either, unlike a couple of haughty flag-waving snobs on this thread.

Methinks you are both just trying to 'vex' me...

                        • Your flag is a tricolor too.

Well, if Colon wasn't so blinded in his love for this horrible flag of yours, he'd be a fairly pleasant flag-fellow.

When someone (a Rosbif, of all things) spouts such terrible crap that we can forget about our Belgian quibble, it's only normal that we bash the heretic.
