  • It's a testimony to Belgian engineering though. It was designed to last only a couple of years but after decades it's still going strong.

    • ...and of course, now many people think it's part of the city and want it to remain where it is.

      • Yeah, temporary solutions can get so old that some people thinks that they should be protected

Edit: @ alva - I was joking about this bridge - are you serious ?.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

              Ooh, so do I.

When I was young (as in seven-ish), I loved to drive over it.
I loved those 'bumps' in the road.

                      • It used to be named differently, my grandmother (I think even my mum) stills calls it by it's old name.

I don't think it's Astrid but something like that.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
