In American politics it normally is considered 30% hard left 30% hard right and 40% moderate.

So in reality its probably more like 70% non libruhl.

And...all non-libs supported Gengrich? No, I don't think even seventy percent works for Ned's argument.

Well the arguement could be made that while they didn't support him at least they didn't rwretch and throw up like they might have once upon a time.

Sriously I like Newt from what he attempted to do with Contract with America. I felt majorly dissappointed in the amount of partisanship that he inspired to the detriment of the country ala trying to take down Clinton.

Really? I was under the impression that they were bestest buddies. I never noticed too much of a difference between them...

Ogie, I want a fighter, not a wimp like Bush and his father. The left has to be hammered.

I seem to recall Gingrich's approval ratings (in the entire US) were very, very low. Especially compared to Clinton's relatively high ratings.

I don't think he's got a prayer. But at least it looks like he'll have fun. He already called the NSA's mining of phone data something that no reasonable person could support.

One thing can definitely be said for Newt he isn't afraid to speak his mind. Maybe a McCain/Newt package for the ultimate in plain speaking.

                    • Go Newt!

I just like the idea of of the President that replaces him being able to use the line, "Well.... I got better."

                      • I think that McCain has no chance to get a Republican nomination primarily because he opposed the Bush tax cuts when they first came up for consideration. In any debate among Republicans, I am sure the conservatives will remind the audience of this fact.

                        • By the way, when McCain was running in 2000, I was a strong supporter of his. I no longer am because of his betrayal of America on the tax cuts.

What did he do to betray America? Don't tell me he *gasp* supported the tax cuts!

                            • Spiffor, McCain is the same kind of a Republican that we saw during the Hoover administration who, at the time of a stock market crash and deflation, was more concerned about balancing the budget than doing what was necessary to pump stimulus into the economy and restart growth. I cannot and will not ever support such an idiot.

Ah, you mean by giving more money to the people who actually will increase their consumption with the extra money? By directly investing money in sectors essential to the economy? I couldn't agree more

But what does this have to do with the tax cuts of the Bush regime?
