Then you wouldn't ever want to use it, either.

I'd wait on the PS3. If initial sales aren't good, then they may be forced to lower the price. They'll just have to do without those Carribean islands.

Apparently Red Steel was a disappointment, as the swordplay didn't actually reflect the movement of the Wii controller, it simply took your general motion and translated it into pre-made actions. Also said the Wii controller is a little difficult to use, since you don't actually point it at the screen, but at the bar above/below it. We'll see how well they refine things before launch.

Just saw screenshots and a trailer for Halo 3. Visually, beautiful. It'll be interesting to see what, if any, enhancements or changes we see (besides graphics). I'm in agreement with the Ars Technica guy who said there has yet to be a truly next-gen title (until Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, according to him).

Mario Galaxy looks interesting. Very cool idea, except it makes me a little dizzy.

Microsoft had the best game lineup, IMO. Then it was Sony, particularly with Assassin's creed and Heavenly sword. Then there's Nintendo. My top E3 games are...

                - Gears of war

                - Splinter Cell: double agent (What can I say, I'm a fan of the series. Its better than Metal Gear Solid, IMO.)

                - Assassin's creed

                - Bioshock

                - Mass effect

                - Crysis

                - Neverwinter nights 2

                - Heavenly sword

                - Fable 2

                - Alan Wake

                - Halo 3 (just a trailer, I know)

                - The new Live arcade games coming up (including Time pilot and Defender, hell yeah!)

                - Europa Universalis 3

                  Oblivion, hello?

When claiming that a given title is next-gen, you should compare it to previous generation console games, not to PC games. Why? Because things move a lot faster in the PC world: in the console world, we change generations every 4 to 5 years, whereas in the PC world, its about every 1 or 2 years.

Ghost Recon was a perfect example of a console game, even if it was ported over from PC.

I don't see the big deal about Fable - my friend beat it in 8 hours. Does this mean Fable 2 will take 16?

                    • Fable was a very interesting game. Really, the ONLY complaint I had about it was its shortness. Some complained it was too much of an action RPG, but hey, you should have known that one going in. Otherwise, it was very fun .

                      • I didn't know Microsoft was working on making PC and console gamers able to play online together.

                        • Fable took me about 25 hours to finish, but that's because I knew it was short. So I played a lot of minigames... I lost a lot of money on Black Jack.

Fable 2 isn't a huge deal, but its a game I enjoyed, and it has lots of potential. If they fix the major problems in the first game, it will be a great game. And, based on the E3 trailer, it seems the game takes place a couple of centuries in the future, like a fantasy Renaissance game. That should be interesting.

                          • Why would you want to buy Madden '07? All those games are the same. There is very little innovation. Might as well get an older version if you absolutely must play pretend-football.

Really, how manipulating a gamepad to throw a pass 30 yards with perfect spiral can exicte people is really beyond me. What you are seeing on the screen ... the crowd, the players, the coaches, are just covering for the fact that you are tapping a handful of buttons. Has nothing to do with football.

Yep, I found that to be very cool!

So a game player with X360 and with a PC with Vista could play against each other... if they both had XBox Live, of course.
