this is assinine! they are coming to the market late, with a larger price, and a media format player with limited media available.
think of it this way:
1. how many people own hdtvs
2. how many are gamers
3. how many already own a console
4. how many are in the market for a new console
5. how many are in the market for next gen hd media
6. how many are going to get more than one console
sure the ps3 will sellout at launch. but after that who will buy it because it offers that much greater of an experience.

2 HDMI was for dual outputs, for whatever reason. It was always stupid.
