The FOS could easily have constructed a spaceship, with co-ordinates to travel back to the planet.

Which btw, if you watch the movie, you will find that he does use a spaceship.

Also, just so that you know, Superman can hold his lungs for approx 2 hours. He certainly cannot survive in space for a long time. And yes, if he travelled away from our sun, he would lose his powers.

And no, he doesn't suddenly get "stronger" when he needs to be, he has a certain amount of strength (which has been measured, I can't remember what it is right now). He CAN travel at the speed of light, he has done it in Superman 1 (when he travelled around the earth to turn back time) and even Superman 2 (inside of the FOS, with the 3 villians, he was actaully running from spot to spot at the speed of light, making you think that he was in several places at once).
